More than half of all social media users do so on a mobile device, but there are still a ton of people that use desktops or tablets to peruse Facebook, Instagram, and many other social media apps.

The problem with this for businesses is that each platform and each device have different optimal formats. Facebook posts should be 1200x628 pixels while Instagram posts should be 1080x1080 and there are many caveats within not only these platforms, but the many others out there.

To make matters even more complicated, a Facebook cover photo displays at 820x312 on computers and 640x360 pixels on smartphones, meaning your cover photo should be 820x360 but only have relevant content and copy in the middle 640x312 pixels...sheesh!

The point of all of this is to make sure you're making your content look like it has a purpose. Don't be lazy and post square graphics everywhere or simply hit 'share' to all platforms. Really great businesses with legitimate social media plans make sure to do it right, and the time is always right to do what is right. (A little shout out to Dr. Martin Luther King there).

If you're looking to make sure your social media content looks like it belongs, and you're not sure how to do it, give us a call at Vero Beach Social Media. We're always happy to help.
