Social media platforms can be overwhelming. We wanted to make it a little more whelming by breaking down each of the features available on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube over seven weeks. We’ll talk format, length, location, and life span, so you can make the most out of what the social media platforms have to offer.

This week we’re talking about YouTube Shorts.

What are YouTube Shorts? YouTube Shorts are YouTube’s version of Reels and TikToks. They are 15-60 second videos located in your feed and at the bottom of the home screen. Like Reels and TikToks, people who aren’t following you can see your Shorts as they scroll. The need to be in the same format, 1080 pixels wide and 1920 pixels tall. They live on your YouTube home page forever.

What do Shorts do? Like Reels and TikToks, they are for entertainment. People can spend hours scrolling through their feeds. They can also help you reach new followers and potential customers.

What should you make your Shorts about? Whatever you want to! Show off products, make a quick tutorial, or answer a commonly asked question. The world is your oyster. Don’t forget to add some hashtags to get some extra reach.

We hope the last seven blogs have helped you understand your Social Media Toolbox a little better, but as always, if you need help with Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, give us a call!
